A brewing heritage

Bullards is a name that is synonymous with the brewing heritage of Norwich. Beginning at the Anchor Brewery in 1837, Richard Bullard along with son Harry and further generations supplied a range of hugely popular beers across the county of Norfolk. By 1895, when Bullard & Sons came into being, the brand had become an established name in the City.

Bullards

A brewery at the heart of Norwich

Having had over 500 public houses in Norwich, Bullards is a brand that will always spark conversation between older generations that have lived in and around the city. From the iconic chimney towering over the landscape to the stained glass windows that are still present today, Bullards is a brand built into the foundations of Norwich culture. With brewing stopped for over 30 years the city was missing a large part of it’s heritage.

Bullards

A new beginning

Yet 2015 is the rebirth of a local iconic brand. Bullards has established brand new recipes for modern cask beer drinkers inspired by tradition, yet brought up to date with the brewing expertise of local brewery, Redwell. Beginning with 2 contemporary beers reinvigorating the brand, Norwich has rekindled a heritage that began over 170 years ago. Bullards was brilliant then, better now.
